Book Review: Yes Please

Confession time. This is not the first time I’ve read Yes Please by Amy Poehler. It’s actually the third. I read it when it first came out back in 2014, and then I listened to the audiobook (which I recommend for everyone, it’s amazing).

I decided to pick this book up again because I had just finished watching 13 Reasons Why, and I needed something light and happy to lift my spirits up after that major downer. Also, I just finished my latest Parks and Recreation watch, and was having a serious case of PPD – Post Parks Depression. What better way to soften the blow of leaving Pawnee than by reading about the amazing woman who brought Leslie Knope to life.

Going to a Taping of The Tonight Show!

If you know me, you know that I LOVE Jimmy Fallon! He is so funny and seems like such a nice guy and I’m in love with him. If you didn’t know, Universal Studios in Orlando made a ride starring Jimmy! Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon is a simulation ride where Jimmy hops in a special go-kart and you race him through the streets of New York, while other popular stars and characters of The Tonight Show pop up along the way. (My official review of the ride will be coming up in a later post).

With the opening of his ride, The Tonight Show hit the road and did a week of shows from the Universal Orlando Resort!

Book Review: The Sun is Also a Star

I received an ARC of this book over the summer when I won a contest at Barnes & Noble. It was trivia night for their teen book festival, B-Fest, and my prize was that I would receive advanced copies of books in the mail throughout the year. 

I just finished reading The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon, and it did not disappoint. I was so excited to read this book because Nicola’s first book, Everything Everything, was one of my favorite books that I read last year. Her writing is so beautiful, and she has quickly become one of my favorite authors.
